An 83-year-old-man in Mississippi. We met him while he was sitting with his gun on his porch waiting to shoot a squirrel. I fell in love with his eyes.

Next to Angola prison there also lives Virginia Pate. She gave Jacob a place to sleep during his vagabond years although she was too scared to stay in the same house with a white man, so she at night stayed at another house. But nevertheless she sewed Jacob a quilt for the night so that he didn't have to freeze. The first night Jacob stayed in her family her husband kicked him out of the trailor, pointing his gun into Jacobs stomach. The second night Jacob could stay with Virginia's sister in another trailor.
I really enjoyed her warmth and warm smile.
