Biography

Hello and Namaste! My work is about combining film and graphic design for a social cause. In the last years I also got more and more into anthropology, regarding film as a wonderful medium to encounter people and to tell stories.

I studied Media Design at the University of Applied Sciences in Augsburg / Germany and completed my M.A. in Visual and Media Anthropology at the Freie Universität Berlin in 2011. I have worked as a freelance film maker, video editor, photographer and graphic designer since 2003. Besides graphic design, I produce my own documentaries in the field of music and topics that are related to poverty/minorities/violence. I have worked in Nepal since 2004 and produced 3 documentaries there, focusing on the Maoist insurgency that ravaged the country from 1996-2006.

I am one of the main founders of the first cooperative art cinema in Germany (in Aalen) and have collaborated with many other art and social associations such as »Einar-Schleef-Working Committee« in Sangerhausen/Germany or theatre projects with special needs actors/actresses. Since 2003 I am active for »Govinda - children projects in Nepal« as a volunteer in graphic design, fundraising, and concepting.

Since several years I work with danish photographer Jacob Holdt, with whom I toured through the Southern States of the US to document the lives of the people that have been involved in Holdts »American Pictures«.
